The Canton Cougars also made an unprecedented move by signing Rashan Hall.
Hall the former Canton McKinley, and Canton Legends standout, who stepped down
as the Head Coach of the Cougars last season has decided to suit up for 2012. Initially
Hall was to be retained as an Assistant Coach and the Director of Player

would better serve the team as a player than as a coach and still has a desire
to play. “Having seen Rashan play and the on field leadership ability he has,
he will be a force to be reckoned with in this league.” “Rashan is a phenomenal
athlete and a person; he will definitely be one of the faces of this team for
2012,” owner Tim Clark stated.

New CEO of Cougars Wastes No Time in Making Personnel Changes.
Canton- One day after it was announced that Tim Clark would be the new owner of the Ultimate Indoor Football League’s Canton Cougars. The retired Cleveland Policeman and former owner of the league’s Johnstown Generals wasted no time in making personnel changes. It was announced today, Director of Football Operations Paul Farrah will now also serve as the Head Coach and Canton South Head Football Coach Mo Daniska has been hired as the new Defensive Coordinator for the upcoming 2012 Cougars season. Louisville High School Defensive Coordinator Troy Davis will serve as the Director of Community Relations, focusing on developing youth football camps and clinics. Former Head Coach Rashaun Hall who went 1-13 with the Cougars has been retained as an assistant coach and will also serve as Director of Player Personnel.
Farrah, the former Louisville High School Head Coach and Stark County coach of the decade, has won seven league titles, and had four 10-0 regular seasons. In 16 years as a head coach, Farrah’s record is 130-52.
Tim Clark Takes Over AS CEO
Year 2 of the Canton Cougars will begin with new ownership.
Tim Clark has taken over majority control of the Ultimate Indoor Football League team. The retired Cleveland policeman formerly owned the league’s Johnstown Generals and also worked for the Cleveland Fusion, a women’s pro football team.
Andrew Haines, the Cougars’ previous owner and one of the UIFL’s co-founders, will retain a small stake in the Cougars.
“The commute to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was kind of wearing on me,” Clark said. “So when the Canton Cougars became available for sale, I bought it and sold the Johnstown Generals.”
The Generals won five of their last seven games to finish 6-8. They missed the playoffs by one game.
Clark’s new team struggled mightily.
The Cougars lost their last 10 games and went 1-13. Their only win came against Saginaw, which won the UIFL’s first championship.
Last month, the Cougars hired former Louisville High School coach Paul Farrah as director of football operations.
“Even though they were 1-13, they had a pretty steady and loyal fan base,” Clark said. “When you’re 1-13, the bar is set pretty low for the 2012 season.
“There are a significant amount of changes that are going to be made to this organization. It has one year under its belt. It was the inaugural season. As with all the teams in the UIFL, everything didn’t run perfectly.”
The UIFL and the Northern Kentucky River Monsters mutually agreed to part ways earlier this month. The league, however, is adding expansion teams in Tupelo, Miss., Danville, Ill., Fort Myers, Fla., and Rome, Ga., giving it nine teams. The other original teams are based in Pikeville, Ky., and Huntington, W.Va.
“It was a successful season,” Clark said. “None of the teams folded as in the past with the other leagues. We were able to maintain a lot of things that other leagues and other teams haven’t done in the past.”
