Haines now a certified player agent for the CFL

FT. MYERS, FL – The Ultimate Indoor Football League is taking another step toward helping its players achieve the goal of making a living through football.

UIFL President Owner Andrew Haines, through his company Conquest Sports & Entertainment Management, was recently certified to represent players in the Canadian Football League.

“This will be a big help in our efforts to move UIFL players to the CFL,” said Haines. “The CFL is the highest paying league under the National Football League.”

The league minimum is more than $40,000 per season while playing in Canada. The eight-team league starts in June and ends in November. Former Huntington defensive lineman has already made the successful transition, playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Conquest does not charge players upfront fees, and will only get paid if the player signs with a CFL team. Fees are in accordance with CFLPA guidelines.

Players that are looking for representation to play in the CFL can contact Haines at andrew@conquestsem.com for an application.

Canton Cougars Re-Sign WR Nate Ford, and 3 other players for 2012.

September 13, 2011

Canton- The Canton Cougars continue to re-build
with the Re-signing of WR Nate Ford. Ford, who was traded to Canton from the
Johnstown Generals during the mid-season last year, averaged 6-7 receptions per
game and accumulated 10 touchdowns and also spent time on the defensive side of
the ball at LB and DB. CEO of the Cougars Tim Clark stated it was important to
re-sign Ford for 2012 because he is a versatile player that can contribute to
both sides of the ball if need be. Adding to the receiving core will be 6’2”
225lbs. Jacques Lazarus a speedy WR who runs a 4.38 40 yard dash time and
played college at UCLA and San Diego State, before also spending time in both
the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars, and St. Louis Rams camps. Lazarus has also played
indoor football for the AFL2 Stockton Lightning and Boise Burn.

The Cougars also signed DE James Abrams 6’2
240lbs from Hampton University. Abrams also spent time with the Bloomington
Extreme and the AF2 Columbus Destroyers. Abrams attended the September 4, 2011
open tryout and made an immediate impression on Head Coach Paul Farrah and
Defensive Coordinator Moe Daniska with his athleticism and speed. Former
Baldwin Wallace LB David Schierbaum 5’8” 210lbs., also signed a contract to
play in 2012. Schierbaum was signed from the Canton Cougars farm team and
semi-pro partner the Cleveland Saints. Schierbaum’s size speed and awareness
makes him a perfect addition to the indoor game. “It is not always about having
the biggest player at certain positions.” “In arena football size is not always
a perfect asset.” “The speed and tone of the game is much faster than what is
played outdoors. David has a unique style of explosiveness, awareness, and
uncanny strength that makes up for his size, and makes him perfect for the
indoor game,” Coach Farrah stated.

The Canton Cougars begin the 2012 season in March. Season tickets currently
on sale for $49.00 all 7 games, any available seat including front row. For
